Treatment

During the initial assessment, your physiotherapist will do a comprehensive evaluation of your injury, including body alignment, strength, stability and flexibility. We will then design a specific therapy program for you, which may include:

  • Manual therapy
  • Joint and soft tissue mobilization
  • Ultrasound
  • Electrical stimulation (TENS, muscle stim, Interex)
  • Active manual/assisted stretching
  • Exercise programs for stretching, stabilizing and strengthening
  • Return to work/play programs
  • Acupuncture and dry needling

Follow up appointments will be made, only as required, to further treat your problem and advance your program as tolerated.

What to Expect

A physiotherapist is your guide and partner on your journey to wellness. During the initial assessment at our clinic, your physiotherapist will do a comprehensive evaluation of your injury or area of pain. He/she will then design a specific treatment program for you.

Physiotherapists have many tools available to them to help you recover from your injury, but their most powerful tool is you. In addition to using the many treatment options available at our clinic, our therapists will educate you on specific stretching and strengthening exercises. These exercises will improve body mechanics, posture, strength, flexibility and balance to help you return to work and play.

Your attitude and dedication in following through with this program has a great impact on the length of time it will take for you to recover.
