Emily Hunter - Physiotherapist and founder of Hunter Physiotherapy

Emily Hunter, dipPT

Physiotherapist

Emily graduated from the University of Manitoba School of Medical Rehabilitation in 1968 and has enjoyed her work in both hospitals and private practice settings. She is committed to continuing education for herself and her colleagues. All musculoskeletal injuries hold an interest for Emily, but especially assessing and treating osteoporotic clients. She has volunteered for Osteoporosis Canada for the past 28 years and has helped Manitoba become a leader in education of the public and the medical profession in bone healthy lifestyles. Away from work, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends at their cottage.

Mireille Fréchette - Physiotherapist for Hunter Physiotherapy

Mireille Fréchette, B. ès Sc., BMR (PT)

Physiotherapist

Mireille is a graduate of the University of Manitoba (Physiotherapy) and obtained her Baccalauréat ès Sciences from the Université de Saint-Boniface. She has been with the Hunter Physiotherapy since 1999 and is fluent in both French and English. Mireille is certified to perform acupuncture, has training in manual therapy, muscle energy techniques, orthopedics, exercise prescription as well as running injury prevention and treatment. She also has a special interest and training in vestibular rehabilitation.

Mireille gained international work experience working in the Caribbean and New Zealand alongside physiotherapists from the UK, South Africa, USA, Australia and New Zealand. She is committed to an active lifestyle for herself and her family and believes very strongly that active living and regular exercise are part of a balanced lifestyle.

Chris Vergata - Physiotherapist for Hunter Physiotherapy

Chris Vergata, BMR. PT

Physiotherapist

Chris has been with Hunter Physiotherapy for 10 years now! He is a 2011 graduate of the University of Manitoba, School of Medical Rehab (Physiotherapy). His education does not end there, having completed courses within the Orthopedic division as well as becoming certified to perform Acupuncture across Canada (2014). Chris began his physiotherapy career practicing within the hospitals in acute care, post-op hip and knee surgeries as well as geriatric rehab, working with patients of all ages. Currently his practice is heavily based in hands-on manual therapy as well as functional strength training.

Dominique Carriere - Physiotherapist for Hunter Physiotherapy

Dominique Carriere, BMR, PT

Physiotherapist

Dominique has had a lifelong passion for healthy living. She competed on a national level in both ringette and bandy, while enjoying leisure activities such as kayaking, cross country skiing, running and coaching. With a Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education, a Certificate in Personal Training and a Degree in Physiotherapy, she is dedicated to maintaining a healthy lifestyle, while sharing her knowledge through her work as a physiotherapist.

Dominique is CAFCI certified in acupuncture, GTT and GUNN IMS dry needling, and level 3 manual therapy. Since 2004, she has continued to take courses such as advanced exercise prescription, neuromuscular taping and cupping. Dominique uses a combination of acupuncture, dry needling, tissue massage, joint mobilizations, and exercise to help her patients achieve their functional goals.

Dawn Hunter - Massage Therapist for Hunter Physiotherapy

Dawn Hunter, RMT

Massage Therapist

Dawn graduated from the Atlanta School of Massage Therapy and has over 30 years of experience as a massage therapist. She has been with Hunter Physiotherapy since 1994. Dawn has training in myofascial release, trigger point therapy, relaxation and deep tissue massage. Dawn’s time away from work is enjoyed at the family cottage!

Laura Bonne - Massage Therapist for Hunter Physiotherapy

Laura Bonne, RMT

Massage Therapist

Laura has been working as a massage therapist since 2010 after graduating from the Massage Therapy College of Manitoba. She has training in relaxation massage, myofascial release, cupping, trigger point therapy, and has a certificate in Thai Foot Reflexology. When she isn’t treating clients she can be found reading, refinishing furniture, camping, or out roaming her neighbourhood with her kids collecting pine cones.

Hello/Bonjour! I’m Lynne Ricard, your Registered Massage Therapist. I graduated in 2015 from the Massage Therapy College of Manitoba and am also certified in TMJ treatment. Whatever you fancy, from relaxation massage to deep tissue treatment…I’ve got your back! I can also provide service en Français. See you next time!

Brenda has been with Hunter Physiotherapy for 15 years. She loves spending time with her family, bike riding and trying out new healthy recipes. She is also working on getting fit and in shape for when she retires one day!

Maryana has been with Hunter Physiotherapy for 1 year. Maryana moved to Canada from Ukraine 6 years ago, with her two daughters and her husband. When she isn’t at work she loves going to Pinawa for the weekends, she also volunteers as an interpreter for Ukrainian refugees. She hates cooking but she does it anyway! She is fluent in several different languages, Ukrainian, Russian and German just to mention a few. She also has a small cute dog that she loves.
